If you’re like me, the delay of Final Fantasy XV is truly tragic news. But Square Enix was generous, and gave us an entire hour of gameplay to help hold us over while we wait for this epic title to hit the market.

You can see the truly free form combat as Noctus and comrades work through some more trivial situations. The scale of enemies, the style of exploration, and of course the near-perfect visuals.

Final Fantasy XV seems to draw a lot of influence from the Monolith Soft title Xenoblade Chronicles. Emphasis is placed on exploring massive expansive areas and fighting against huge enemies. The combat seems intricate, and forces you to depend on your allies and their setups to lead you into devastating combos and daring assist moves.

While Final Fantasy XV was originally set to launch in September, it was delayed until November 29th. This isn’t too long a wait, and with the footage shown at both E3 and Gamescom, as well as the very clever Platinum Demo available on PS4 and Xbox One, players have plenty of ways to try this game before they buy. There’s also the Kingsglaive movie and the prequel anime Brotherhood that will shed light on extra story details. So feel free to check out all of this extra content as you prepare for the game to launch.
