When it comes to large MMORPGs, the teams behind the games need to account for the servers and what they can do. But also, they need to adapt in order to compensate for the expansion, or recession, of players. If the player base gets bigger than the servers can handle, there needs to be an expansion of servers. Or if the player base is too spread out among the servers, then servers need to be merged. The latter is the case for browser MMORPG Naruto Online, and the team has been struggling to get these servers merged.
But in a post on their website, they now have a plan to do it. And on September 19th they’re going to begin maintenance to start doing exactly that. They ask that players don’t log into Naruto Online while the maintenance is going on. They made a list of times for each server that they have, so check the post via the link above to find out when this maintenance will affect you.
As for how the merging of servers will be gauged, the team behind the browser MMORPG states:
“Server Merging will be done in accordance to the number of players online and power level as selection factors. We have in our interest that every player enjoys the best gaming experience and social environment possible.”
If your server is not one of the ones being merged, but you feel it should, you should send a request for it to happen to the Naruto Online team. They’re going to take all requests into consideration, but won’t say whether it happens or not until an official announcement can be released.
The Operations Team also notes that once the merging is complete, you won’t have to worry about logging into the game any differently, it’ll be the same process as before.
