Modder Releases New Version of Beautiful Doom

Renowned modder Jekyll_Grim_Payne has released a brand new version of Beautiful Doom, his mod for the original Doom games. This mod works in a similar fashion to Brutal Doom, which released back in 2008. This new version sets out to make Doom a smoother, more visually impressive experience, whilst maintaining the gameplay foundations that made it so popular.

Players of the mod will see new smoke effects, debris and casings, as well as a more streamlined weapon animations and an enhanced gibbing system. New blood effects have also been added, which can now spray on the ceilings, for it to drip down slowly with blood drops, forming pools and leading to bloody footprints. There’s been further improvements to the code and behavior of blood in general, which now looks so much better than it did before.

Arch-Vile’s resurrection has also been enhanced, with gibbed monsters actually moving towards the place of resurrection as opposed to simply disappearing. Finally, and perhaps most interestingly, the update has added a little something extra to the BFG, providing it with an alternative attack, whilst bolstering its main attack with better lighting consistency.

If you’d like to download the latest version of the Beautiful Doom mod, you can do so from the following link. Its worth noting that this mod is compatible with GZDoom only. Its definitely worth doing so if you’d like to see an impressive take on the legendary shooter, check out the video below for a better look at what you can expect to see.
