The PvP-focused mobile MMORPG AxE (Alliance x Empire) by Nexon reached the top place in iOS sales just after its release in Korea. After its success on iOS devices, AxE ranked second on Google Play.
Nexon’s promising mobile game seems to be yet another successful creation by the developer giant, and even NCSoft’s Lineage M ranked lower, at least on iOS. As for Google Play, Lineage M holds first place in Korea, but for how long? AxE is a complex mobile MMORPG and comes with both PvP and PvE content. The game has a large emphasis on monster hunting, and the open world zones have a free PK system. The game’s PvE content is built in a way that PvP is almost totally unavoidable. There are two opposing factions in AxE to choose from, which creates the perfect atmosphere for PvP content. AxE comes with well-designed 3D graphics and a slightly generic fantasy setting. Check out the game’s official site to learn more about it.
As for the game’s western release, sadly we couldn’t find any specific information, but judging by its huge success, it’s a matter of time until Nexon decides to launch an English version. AxE managed to rise in an extremely overcrowded industry and beating Lineage M on iOS is definitely a reason to celebrate. The game was developed by Nexon’s subsidiary, Nexon GT and according to Korean sources, the company’s share prices skyrocketed (by 69%) after AxE’s launch
