Sometimes, there’s just no good news for some people. And sometimes, when it rains, it truly pours. Such is the case for Gazillion Entertainment, who were the team behind the popular Marvel Heroes game. Marvel Heroes was an MMORPG that was free-to-play, and recently came to consoles via a version of the game called Omega. But then, recently, Disney shut down the game, with the end of it meant to be at the end of the year. But now, that doesn’t appear to be the case anymore.
For multiple sources, including a tweet that you can see below, states that the game won’t make it to the end of the year. In fact, it won’t make it to the end of the week. For Gazillion Entertainment has been shut down, and its employees laid off without certain pay they were owed. Because of that, Marvel Heroes will apparently be shut down tomorrow.

Now, officially, this hasn’t been confirmed yet. But, based on the tweets and such that we’re seeing, it’d be pretty hard to try and convince us it’s not. After all, if the studio behind the game is dead, who’s running the game?
Fingers are being pointed at who’s to blame for all of this. One of them being Disney (who owns Marvel), who was the one that ended the contract with Gazillion. Stating:
“We regret to inform our Marvel Heroes fans that we have ended our relationship with Gazillion Entertainment, and that the Marvel Heroes games will be shut down.”
However, many are saying that it was Gazillion who forced the shutdown, as their CEO was apparently harassing the female staff.
Either way, it appears both them and Marvel Heroes are gone for good.
