There’s a lot of bad things going on in the world today, and because of that, it’s the simplest of things that lead to the biggest of smiles. This certainly is the case for the Make-A-Wish foundation, which for years have been granting the simple wishes of those who are struggling with various health issues. Some of them have wished to meet a certain celebrity, some have wanted to go to certain places. But one kid, he wanted somewhere to play. But not just any kind of plaything, he wanted a Mario-themed playground.
Jake Labrene is a young boy who suffers from not having a pulmonary artery in his heart. Yet, he loves to play on a playground, and he loves the Super Mario games, so, when he got the chance to make his Make-A-Wish, he wanted a playground built near him that resembled the world of Mario, and that’s exactly what he got. Watch the video below to see how this epic video game playground got made.
It’s this kind of simple thing that will bring happiness to not just Jake, but to many children who live near him. As something tells us that this playground will last for quite some time.
Ironically enough, Nintendo is working on building a whole Nintendo theme park in Universal Studios, one that’ll feature not just Mario, but a vast variety of their hit IPs. This is part of Nintendo’s initiative to show their characters and worlds outside of video games, which also include potential animated movies that are rumored to be in the works.
And Mario himself has been on quite a roll recently, as his most recent console game, Odyssey, was a major selling hit when it released last November, and was even nominated for Game of the Year by many in the industry.
