Recently Standing Stone Games was announced to be taking over Lord Of The Rings Online from its previous developer. With that, a lot of changes were coming, like account switch, and other small changes. Now that the transition is complete, the Executive Producer for Lord Of The Rings Online decided to write a letter to fans and players and what’s coming up this year.
First, he thanked the players that stayed with the game, especially since the title is about to venture into some very interesting stories. What’s coming up? Well, the MMORPG is heading to Mordor soon, which for anyone who knows LOTR, is a big deal. Now, he didn’t announce the release date for this upcoming expansion, but, he did note that it should be revealed sometime in the Summer. Furthermore, he promised the more information on it will come soon.
Second, the things that are coming soon are Update 20, and a special 10th Anniversary celebration. The team at Standing Stone Games is going to have a very special event planned for you to do in-game. As well as other standard celebration things. They’ll even do a livestream on Twitch to celebrate ever further.
Next, was chat about Update 20. This will focus on the region called the Wastes. Here players will trek into the bleak Noman-lands, such as dismal Dagorlad, and right up to the brim of Mordor. For movie fans, and book fans, you’ll also be allowed to play in the Battle at the Black Gate. There will also be chances to help out companies that are preparing for the trek into Mordor, and many other solo and group play you can do.
Then, as stated previous, Update 21 will take you to Mordor, and not just for content that was in the books or movies, but whole new content for you to do that’ll show you even more what Mordor is like.
