NCSOFT drops a new trailer for their long time coming title Lineage Eternal, teasing fans for the upcoming Korean closed beta test.
Lineage Eternal saw some hardships since it was first announced in 2011, with development being pushed back several times over the years. At long last, it seems like NCSOFT is ready to showcase the game to early testers in the upcoming closed beta test, scheduled to start on November 30, 2016, for the Korean audience. The newest trailer aside, the company has kept the public entertained by revealing plenty of content, such as character animations, Korean voice overs, and cutscenes.
“The game seeks to provide the chance to have a heroic experience for the player, such as being able to lead allied troops into a massive siege battle.”
Unlike Lineage II, which was a prequel to Lineage, released worldwide in 1998, Lineage Eternal is a direct sequel to the first. It takes the brand back to a top-down perspective and pushes the gameplay forward with an action based combat reminiscent of the Diablo franchise. Its predecessors had a favorable reception, with Lineage being one of the most played online games in Korea and Lineage II, while receiving mixed reviews upon its release, still receives updates and is played worldwide by thousands of people. The series has multiple mobile spin-offs planned for release, such as Lineage Mobile, Lineage Red Knight, Lineage II: Revolution, and Lineage II: Blood Oath.
Lineage Eternal is a cross-region action MMORPG for PC, Android, and iOS . Its first closed beta test is due to November 30 and ends on December 4 in Korea. A date for the Western localization has not yet been revealed, but everything points to it being confirmed to happen.
