League of Legends has always been a game with a community that has a mixed attitude. Therefore, Riot Games decided that League of Legends needed a new Honor System which gives the humble, helpful, and friendly players plenty of worthwhile rewards.
Even though the concept of the system sounded good to pretty much everyone, the rewards didn’t. The rewards from the pre-update Honor System were kind of lacking in a sense and players were not feeling it. Countless posts popped up on the forums in which the community discussed what kind of update the system needs.
This got Riot Games thinking and just now they released a video in which they reveal the new, updated Honor System. They went in-depth with how the system functions and it’s pretty simple and very rewarding for the player.
You will now be able to honor only one player that stood out in the game. There are 3 types of honor for 3 types of players: Stayed Cool(Tilt-proof/Chill), Great Shotcalling(Leadership/Strategy), and GG<3(Team Player/Friendly). Everyone starts off their Honor Level at 2 and everyone can get lower or higher depending on how you behave in game. The highest level is level 5 and the lowest level is called Dishonored.
The update of the honor system will also affect your loot. Key fragments can only be earned with a good honor level, so as long you stay positive in-game you should still be getting keys. There’s a new piece loot that is coming through the update and it’s the Honor Capsule. When opened, an Honor Capsule usually gives you a couple of key fragments, sometimes a champion shard, and potentially the very exclusive Medieval Twitch and Grey Warwick skins.
A temporary loading screen flair is another thing that you will have if your Honor Level keeps going higher in numbers. These will showcase that you’re coming off a good game and that you’re attitude is positive. If you want to find out more about the update, watch the video about it that Riot recently released.
