League of Legends LCK Spring Split Day 3
The much maligned reformed ROX Tigers proved on Day 3 that they were still competitive, with a come from behind win against Kongdoo Gaming 2-1. Game 2 saw some particularly excellent Thresh play from KeY. But the final game left the casters, and probably many of the fans, wondering if ROX Tigers was doing well enough to win, or if Kongdoo Monster was just doing badly enough to lose. It even ended with all of the players fighting over a neutral objective, while the blue minions destroyed the Nexus of Kongdoo Monster.
In the other Day 3 match up, Afreeca Freecs spent the first game steamrolling through Samsung Galaxy, defeating them in just over 30 minutes. Game 2 saw Samsung Galaxy with a team composition that produced enough pressure that Afreeca Freecs were on the defensive the entire game.
Game 3 was interesting, as it kept looking like Samsung Galaxy was on top, and Afreeca Freecs kept turning it around. When SSG’s Kennen found a huge 4 man stun, the Freecs came out on top after the team fight. And when Samsung Galaxy took a Baron in the 23rd minute, the Freecs came in, led by Spirit’s Olaf, and took out 4 of the enemy champions.
In the end, Afreeca Freecs was able to play smart and avoid mistakes, and in the end, they were victorious 2-1. If you missed it Day 3 of League of Legends LCK, you can still catch it on LCK1.
