The League of Legends EU LCS Spring Split 2017 has begun, with four matches having reached completion so far in the first phase of the competition. Teams are split into two groups of five, and will compete within their groups for weeks 1-3 and 8-10, taking on teams from the other group in weeks 4-7.
League of Legends EU LCS Spring Split 2017
Competition so far has been good for G2 Esports and Misfits in Group A, and H2k an Unicorns of Love from Group B. Misfits acquired South Korean jungler KaKAO in the off season, and the infusion of foreign talent has been good for their roster. Unicorns of Love is also running some new players to the organization, with their jungler Xerxe coming on board in December, and AD carry Samux joining the team as recently as January 4th.
It’s often thought that teams with players that lack experience playing together will struggle in LCS, but some of these teams are proving that notion to be false in 2017. H2k also imported their bottom lane from South Korea back in December, with the acquisition of AD carry Nuclear and support Chei.
Days 1 and 2 have finished, but Day 3 is still to come. In Group A, it will be G2 against ROCCAT, and Group B will put Splyce against H2k. It’ll be a chance for either of the leading teams to secure their domination early on in the 2017 season, or for the untested teams to start strong.
