Poison Ivy Injustice 2

One of the many new additions to the fighting game Injustice 2 roster is Poison Ivy. The fan-favorite character is getting another taste of the video game life, but this time, players will be able to control her. And via a new gameplay trailer, fans got a brief look at what they can expect from one of the “Avatars of The Green.”

As you can see in the trailer, Poison Ivy uses her ability to grow and manipulate plants in battle to attack, defend, and more. She can even grow a living plant to hurt acid at foes at a distance. As well as use a plant vine as an attack. Plus, she can breathe out poison spores, and go in for her classic “kiss” to really rub salt into the wound. Also, she can unleash her most devastating attack: tossing her foes into a freaking huge venus fly trap.

Poison Ivy was in the original Injustice comic and was shown to be with Harley Quinn in some capacity in Injustice: Ground Zero. What fans are no doubt waiting for is seeing how far Poison Ivy’s role in Injustice 2 goes. She’s already confirmed to be in The Society working for Gorilla Grodd, but what else will happen?

For example, in Injustice Year Three, she met and made a connection with Swamp Thing, who is also in the game. And as mentioned, she and Harley are an item. And let’s not forget about Selina Kyle aka Catwoman, who is also in The Society with Ivy. There’s a lot of threads there that can be pulled if the writers decide to go full-force into it.

Injustice 2 is continuing the story of the hit game, taking place a good time after Superman has gone to prison for crimes against the world. Batman tries to make the world safe again, but threats old and new are about to make that very difficult. The game releases on May 16th.
