Both Marvel and DC Comics are trying to push their brands into new mediums all the time. But for TV, they’re trying to bring as many of their IPs as possible to it. Marvel’s latest attempt though is a bit different from the others. Inhumans is going to be shown in IMAX films first, then shown to the rest of the world via ABC. What’s more, though this is an origin story of the royal family of Inhumans, the breed have already been introduced.

You see, Inhumans have been a bit part of Marvel’s Agents Of Shield, as one of the main characters is Quake. But for this show/movie event, the main characters are the legendary royal family that has been in Marvel Comics for some time. It stars Black Bolt, Medusa, Maximum, Karnak, and more as they apparently struggle to both stop an uprising among their own people (including Black Bolt’s brother) and survive in a world that’s not exactly accepting.

As you can see, family and politics are a big part of the show, as is the whole “New people, different world” kind of thing. What’ll be interesting though is how far it goes after that.

Inhumans has gotten a bit of controversy ever since it was revealed. It was meant to be a part of the full-on Marvel Cinematic Universe, with rumors of Vin Diesel being Black Bolt. But then it became this odd movie/TV series. What’s more, the main picture of the cast (seen above) has raised a lot of eyebrows because of somewhat lack of quality in some of the outfits.

So, will the show be a success? It’ll just depend on the writing and how people receive it. Guess we’ll have to wait to see how it all goes down.
