Albion Online is not your typical MMORPG. It’s a sandbox one set in an open medieval fantasy world, it has a player-driven economy, and all the equipment in the game is player-crafted. The game’s first update after its release is coming, and it’s called Joseph. Quite a strange name for an update, but never the less it’s bringing lots of new features, like the Arena mode that we will be covering today, Treasure Sites, Tier 6 Expeditions, abilities and much more. You can watch the trailer for the Joseph update down below.
The Arena is your basic 5v5 PvP mode where you get to slaughter the enemy team while also trying to capture Runestones. You can’t just rush to capture them, as they can only be captured 60 seconds after leaving your spawning ground, the camp. Capturing the Runestones is a simple task, you just need to step inside the rind that surrounds it. If the enemy also steps into the ring at that time, the capturing process gets stopped. The color of the ring will be blue if you capture it, and orange if your enemies capture it. The Runestones are destroyed after you capture them, and there are three of them on the map.
Both teams start with 150 points, and the objective is to get your enemies’ score to 0 by killing them and capturing the Runestones.
You can enter the Arena by talking to Joan, the Arena Master, who can be found in every major city. The Arena can be entered either solo or in a group, but if you are going in a group, you have to pick your role, fighter or healer, and each team must have a healer in order to enter. An average of Tier 4 (700 item power) gear is required in order participate in Arena battles. Now, as far as the rewards go, they are varied, but all of them are bought with Arena Sigils that you get if you are/your team is victorious. You can earn a maximum of nine Arena Sigils in one day. There are lots of rewards to choose from, you can get a Banner, an eyepatch, an Arena Display, or you can save up some Arena Sigils and get the ferocious Arena Veteran’s Armored Sabertooth.
The Arena Mode is coming to Albion Online with the Joseph update on September 27th, so only a couple of days more before you can charge with your into the fray and dominate the enemy!
