Open betas are the perfect way for game developers to show off their titles, all the while getting feedback that could be valuable going forward to launch. In the case of indie game developer Piece of Cake studios, they’ve officially launched the beta for their infiltration stealth game known as Hacktag. Despite being just released for public play via this beta, the game has already gotten a lot of indie accolades. If you want to be a part of this beta, the registration to do so is already available.

But, what is Hacktag? Well, it’s an infiltration stealth title that will also use hacking to a grand degree. But that’s just the beginning, for this title is a true co-op experience, and you’ll have to work with another player to get the job done. For in Hacktag, one player (via split-screen or online play) will be a hacker, while the other is a field agent. Together, you’ll help complete corporate espionage missions, where both of your skills will be needed to make it happen.

Both in the real world and the virtual world you’ll complete objectives across three different corporations that have an infinite number of levels to play. The replayability of Hacktag makes it so every single playthrough is different through procedural generation.

The better you do in each mission, the more you can upgrade your character with new skills and abilities that can help you down the road. Oh, and you can even customize your characters so that they match your style.

The team at Piece of Cake studios is very excited for you to check out Hacktag and let them know what you think:

We are thankful to everyone willing to participate and help us test the game network features in various conditions, especially because the co-operative gameplay is at the heart of Hacktag”, said Marine Lemaitre CEO of Piece of Cake studios.

Now that the Open Beta has begun, anyone interested can submit their information via the game’s official website to gain access and test it out.
