Players often complain about Black Desert Online’s lack of optimization and having FPS issues while playing the Korean MMORPG. The clever ones have come up with various tricks to fix such problems and we recently bumped into one that really does make a difference.
Reddit user Wake_up_shoryu used a PlayerUknown’s Battlegrounds trick that seems to be working for Black Desert Online as well. Players have claimed that this fix can indeed result in better FPS, which we can totally agree with, as we tested the suggestion ourselves.
“I can second this. Did it on 64 and getting around 10 more fps in Heidel” -LazyGameFreak
The FPS improvement fix revolves around DPI Scaling Behaviour. In order to apply the fix, you need to navigate to your Black Desert Online installation folder, and find the Black Desert Online Launcher. Here you have to right click on the file and choose Properties. After that, pick the Compatibility tab and find “Override high DPI scaling behaviour’. Tick the box, choose “Application” and press Apply. Once done, you need to restart Black Desert Online. Now you can check whether your FPS has improved.
“I F***ING love you man, this works like a charm, saves the day. I am using my laptop’s gtx 860m to play and it helps out a lot.” – Hellolin
