College students looking to participate in the Heroes of the Dorm tournament can either form their own team or join an open team from their school. All prospective competitors will have to verify their status as students in order to participate, as this tournament is strictly for college players.
Interested students should visit the official registration page for Heroes of the Dorm. Registration will remain open through February 11, 2017. Players on the championship team could win the equivalent of up to $75,000, in the form of three years of college tuition. Even substitutes on the winning team get one year of tuition paid, up to $25,000. Players on the top four teams after the competition will receive a custom built PC system valued at around $1,000. Even the top 64 teams will receive a player T-shirt and a $40 Battle.net balance, so they can trick out their heroes with skins, new mounts, and other premium goods. All participants will receive unique in-game portraits to display their participation.
The competition is open to students in the US and Canada. Matches will stream live exclusively via Facebook. The tournament will begin on February 15th, shortly after registration closes, with finals taking place on April 8th.
Those who are not college students can participate in the collegiate Heroes of the Storm tournament through the bracket challenge. Correctly predicting the outcome of the match ups can earn you all sorts of prizes, including up to $10,000.
