Hellpoint, a dark sci-fi RPG from Quebec-based Cradle Games is reaching the final days of its Kickstarter campaign. With just two days left to go, the goal of CA$50,000 seems within reach.
Hellpoint on Kickstarter
In Hellpoint, you find yourself as a nameless warrior, by a mysterious authority and flung into a world where everyone has gone insane. Set on a space station, the game’s environment orbits a black hole in real time, which can cause all sorts of imbalances and unexpected events. The game also features a split-screen multiplayer for co-op play as well as PvP.
Perhaps one of the quirkier things about this game’s Kickstarter campaign is the ability to donate just one “space coin.” This amounts to CA$ 1.00, or about 75 cents US. It might not get you the game, but it does get you your name in the game’s credits, as they plan to pay some sort of homage to space coin supporters upon the game’s release.
Meanwhile, interested backers can secure a copy of the game on their platform of choice with a donation of CA$ 29, or about $22 US. The RPG will be available on Mac, Windows, Linux, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It’s scheduled release is some time in the beginning of 2018, if the funding campaign is successful.
A pledge of CA$ 10,000 will earn the supporting individual the Feast of the Jarls, wherein they are invited to Quebec to join the development team in a night of revelry, fully equipped with food, drink, and song. That support option has yet to be chosen by any backers.
If Hellpoint sounds interesting and you’ve got a few Canadian dollars to use up, there is a free demo available of the game. Available for Windows and Linux, it comes complete with a disclaimer from the developers that it is still a pre-alpha version of the game, and many things will be “polished and tweaked” as production is finalized.
