When you’re passionate about something, you want what’s best for it, right? You want it to excel, succeed, be the best that it can be. For video games, this takes on a whole new form, as passionate fans will talk a lot about their “perfect game” in their favorite franchise, or rant and rave about what the developer did wrong and how they “screwed it up” and stuff like that. Well, the Hearthstone community has been slinging some mud at developer Blizzard, and one fan isn’t going to take it anymore.
Recent changes to the game and its cards have made many Hearthstone fans blame Blizzard for not caring about the game, not thinking the changes through and so on. But Reddit user Mr. Grpyhian noted that the opposite is true:
“I don’t understand how so many people think they know what’s great for the game because they’ve spent an hour thinking about it. Did you know their developers spend 8+ hours and 5 days a week thinking about the game?”
He also notes that the current build was not an “accident,” but rather the result of Blizzard’s most recent tests on the game. Furthermore, the team behind Hearthstone are video game development veterans. They know how to make video games. They’re not just slinging cards together to try and make the game new and fresh. They test and debate within the team itself to see if the game is ready for the next expansion.
Sadly, a lot of Reddit users didn’t find Mr. Gryphian’s passionate and logical comments very satisfying. Rather, they called him a “fanboy” and began to bash Blizzard once again for their “incompetence.”
What do you think? Is Hearthstone in a good place right now? Or, is it like fans say and is a mess? Let us know in the comments below.
