Hearthstone – Knights of The Frozen Throne Expansion Coming Soon

Blizzard Entertainment has announced Knights of the Frozen Throne, a brand new expansion coming to Hearthstone in August. The massively popular digital card game will soon see players head to Northrend, where they will come face-to-face with the Lich King and be raised as Death Knights, as well as harnessing mysterious powers and eventually rising to claim the Frozen Throne in the Icecrown Citadel.

Bringing 135 new cards to the game, the Knights of the Frozen Throne addition will be able to gain nine new legendary cards that will turn heroes into Death Knights, giving players modified powers and frosted armor. Other powers granted will include “Lifesteal,” which heals players for for damage dealt. If you are feeling brave enough, you could even challenge the Lich King in a number of free missions that will be on offer. To set up the epic final showdown, your journey begins in the Icecrown Citadel with a prologue mission, with two wings where you will face off against bosses such as Professor Putricide and Sindragosa before coming up against The Lich King. Upon completion, players will receive a random legendary Death Knight Hero Card.

The expansion will make its way to Windows and Mac, iOS and Android tablets and mobile phones. The Knights of the Frozen Throne card packs are winnable in Hearthstone’s Arena mode and are also available with both in-game gold or real money at the same prices as Hearthstone’s other card packs.

From tomorrow until the expansion’s release, the respective card packs will be available for pre-purchase for £44.99 in a 50-pack bundle, which also guarantees a unique themed card for those who choose to do so.
