Hearthstone: Knights of the Frozen Throne Cards

It seems like the Year of the Mammoth just started, and yet we’re already moving towards our next big expansion. This time, Knights of the Frozen Throne will focus on one of the most popular stories in Warcraft lore. The tale of the Lich King is one of the most beloved tales of tragedy in the history of Azeroth. Hearthstone will be taking its own approach to this section of the narrative.

Hero cards are the new core mechanic it seems, and these special cards (rather than introducing the Death Knight class fans wanted) turns the respective hero into a Death Knight complete with a unique and interesting new hero power.

The example card we saw during the reveal gives everyone’s favorite Hunter an extra five armor and the hero power “Create a Custom Zombeast” which allows you to combine every aspect of a few randomly chosen beasts and create one abomination complete with its own set of special powers and mana cost.

It’s really different from anything we’ve seen so far. In addition to this is a new keyword, Lifesteal. It absorbs all damage done into health for your hero. Some minions already have this ability, such as Wickerflame, but it seems to be a bigger feature for this set.

The time for the coveted Frozen Throne is upon us, and dedicated Hearthstone fans will be rewarded for their patience. More news on the brand new Hero Cards as it becomes available. Stay tuned for more on the new Hearthstone expansion: Knights of the Frozen Throne.
