It seems as though we’ve only just started exploring Un’Goro, but already the newest expansion for Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is on its way. We’ll be getting the official announcement next Thursday on July 6th at 7PM PDT.

HearthstoneWe don’t have much information as of now as to what type of expansion we can expect, but hopefully it expands on the Quest mechanic of Un’Goro. Blizzard announced just yesterday that Caverns Below will be getting a nerf soon, bringing its requirements to five minions of the same name rather than four.

We can expect a few other balancing decisions to come up in conversation as we approach the launch of this next expansion. Anytime new cards are on the way, players expect to see balance changes, as the creation of cards like Spiritsinger Umbra step into an entirely new design space when paired with the pre-existing deathrattle cards like Sylvanas and Feugen.

This will be the first year in Hearthstone where rather than getting two full expansions and an adventure, we’ll be seeing the release of three full expansions. This will be the second expansion launched during the Year of the Mammoth.

Stay tuned, as Thursday we’ll be posting about the reveal, along with a list of all revealed cards for Hearthstone’s newest exciting expansion. We have no idea what this reveal might entail, as no leaks have been found up to this point.

Here’s to hoping the Year of the Mammoth is as massive as the primordial beast of its namesake.
