In these blazing hot summer times, the Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion is coming to Hearthstone to help us cool down a bi. But before it arrives on August 11th, we are first getting the August Update. The update is going to improve the consistency of Arena rewards, Dreadsteed is getting changed, and some bugs got squashed. That’s the overall look at the update, but let’s get into the details down below.
Two days are between us and the launch of the Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion which is bringing 135 new cards to our favorite Warcraft card game. The most notable new additions that are coming with this expansion is the Lifesteal keyword and the new card types, the Hero cards. If you’ve ever thought about what would happen if any of the nine heroes in the game went over to the Lich King’s side and got his power, this expansion will showcase that. These Hero Cards turn your Hero into a Death Knight that has a strong battlecry, 5 armor, and a horrifying new Hero Power.
This expansion also has some free single-player Missions to complete. There will be a new section of Missions each week. Lots of rewards are given for participating in these Missions, and for those that complete all the Missions with all the classes, they will acquire Prince Arthas, a new Paladin Hero.
Arena Rewards were changed, so now you shouldn’t get non-Golden Common cards from reward bags. Also, now the first two sets of cards in an Arena Draft will have a greater chance to give you cards that have synergy with each other. Lastly, Dreadsteed, one of the unique Warlock cards, is getting its Deathrattle changed to read: “Deathrattle: At the end of the turn, summon a Dreadsteed.” instead of: “Deathrattle: Summon a Dreadsteed.”
This Hearthstone update also has some minor bug fixes, but you can read about those on the official update post.
