Defiant Development’s ARPG was an experience that was enjoyed by millions, and we will now be seeing the follow-up Hand of Fate 2 releasing on Xbox One on December 1st, with the recently released Xbox One X’s 4K compatibility offering up stunning 4K Ultra HD visual support.
Taking place a hundred years after the epic climax of the first game, this highly anticipated sequel sees the return of the Dealer, who is seeking vengeance whilst training a new apprentice in the Game of Life and Death. Players will be tasked with taking on a series of trials built from magical collectable cards. Set up and laid out into dungeons, each draw brings a new scenario that could either help or hinder the journey featuring vital supplies, valuable items, pitfalls or combat encounters that bring hack-and-slash battles to life.
During his several decades of exile, the Dealer has introduced a number of additions. These include new companion characters, who have the ability to assist players in battle and at the table, as well as additional table-top minigames, a character creator, a combat system that has been completely overhauled, and also an overworld map that has more frames and a variety of mission objectives to provide an even deeper narrative.
Defiant Development director Morgan Jaffit commented:
“The reception to Hand of Fate 2 thus far has been incredible. It’s been extremely gratifying to see so many people enjoy what we’ve been working on these past years and we are excited to share this experience with the Xbox One community this December.”
Hand of Fate 2 arrives on Xbox One on Friday, December 1st.
