A Crack in the Ice is the new episode of Guild Wars 2‘s Living World’s third season, slated for release on November 21. ArenaNet has released a short trailer to tease the update, which you can check below:
The third episode of Living World Season 3 carries on the story of the ever-evolving world of Tyria. Following the events of Guild Wars 2‘s first expansions, Heart of Thorns, A Crack in the Ice will take players to the Northern Shiverpeaks, the lair of the Elder Dragon Jormag. In addition, the update brings a new Fractal of the Mists known as Nightmare, a five-player tower filled with all sorts of danger.
And there’s no better time to purchase Heart of Thorns than now! Until November 22, one day after A Crack in the Ice comes out, Guild Wars 2‘s expansion is available for half the price!
Guild Wars 2 follows the success of its predecessor and delivers a unique experience where the story is shaped according to what choices the player makes, a mechanic not often explored in MMORPGs. It’s been one of the most important games of its genre since its release in 2012. The arrival of Heart of Thorns, its first expansion, saw the game shifting to a semi-free-to-play model where players can experience the content of Guild Wars 2 free of charge with the option to unlock several additions by purchasing the expansion. Not only did Heart of Thorns garner favorable reviews, but the shift in the business model was well received by players.
Developed by ArenaNet and published by their parent company, NCSOFT, Guild Wars 2 is available for Windows PC free of charge, while its expansion, Heart of Thorns, is an optional one time purchase. Heart of Thorns is on sale for half its base price until November 22, 2016!
