A new top-down hack-and-slash MMO, Guardians of Ember, is due this month for Early Access on Steam. The game is developed by Runewaker and published by Insel Games.
Action and Customization
The game is a Diablo-esque thrasher with six different classes to choose from. Players can further customize their characters with secondary classes after level 15. Four different races will also add variety and, all told, players will have over 300 different skills to use.
There will also be elements from traditional MMORPG’s like housing, crafting and enchanting. There will be a story line, and maybe people will like it. You play as a member of a brotherhood (with women, if you want) sworn to protect the world from a dark menace that recently decided to sow chaos. They also have planned on ranked and unranked PvP combat.
Players can choose to play single-player or multi-player, and dungeons will be randomized with multiple difficulty settings. From the trailer, it looks like there will be some pretty big monsters to bash with all kinds of skills.
Guardians of Ember Early Access
All signs point to an Early Access launch via Steam any day now, as it was set to launch this month. The announcement trailer has already been around since this past August. The environments look rich, and the customization options might help differentiate this title from some of its predecessors.
Developer Runewaker previously released titles such as Runes of Magic and Dragon’s Prophet.
