Why do we play video games? Is it strictly for fun? Is it to relieve stress? To get away from the world? Maybe it’s all of the above, but we also like a challenge, and when we beat a challenge we fill a sense of accomplishment. For video games, accomplishments are the things we brag about to our friends and online compatriots. “Totally beat that boss! Got every trophy in the game!” That kind of thing. With Nintendo being the longest-running publisher on consoles and handhelds, there’s been a lot of accomplishments to be had.
So, Reddit user AOLINE, asked the simple question, “What is your greatest feat in a Nintendo game?”
For some, the greatest accomplishment was doing everything in the game that was possible. We like to call these people “completionists.” One user noted that he did 100% on Golden Eye, Banjo-Kazooie, Donkey Kong 64, and both Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask. If you recall, those games were full of collectibles and quests to do and find.
Others wanted to do something that was a real challenge. A major F-Zero fan noted that he has beaten every game in the franchise on the hardest difficulty using only the Blue Falcon vehicle. Show me your moves indeed!
A few noted feats were strictly outside the games themselves, as one person proclaimed to have every single Amiibo ever made. They also have an NES Classic.
One feat that definitely makes the list is someone completing the National Pokédex in Pokémon White 2. It’s not possible to do that on your own, so you have to trade with others to get the Pokémon that you need.
So, what’s your favorite Nintendo feat/accomplishment, we’d love to hear them in the comments below!
