Google Indie Game Festival in September

One of the biggest problems independent developers face is trying to get their names out there and gain recognition. However recently it would seem like they’ve come across a stroke of luck. Google is launching an indie gaming festival in September.

Google Indie Game FestivalApparently Google is trying to encourage indie developers to get involved in their platforms through this event taking place in San Fransisco. The event is open to the public but if you’re an indie developer it would be a good idea to submit a game to Google for many reasons. Not only would they be able to display their game to an audience, but they would have the chance to win a multitude of prizes provided by Google which include, Tango Hardware, space on the Google Play Store, and other useful rewards.

Despite this Google isn’t limiting submission to Mobile Games. In fact it’s encouraged that teams submit games using Tango Hardware and it’s VR platform.

If you’re a part of an indie development team; trying to get your name out there and you want to showcase a game that is ” High Quality, innovative, and fun.” then it would be a good idea to participate in this event taking place on September 24th in San Fransisco.
