Gloria Victis developers took part in Central Europe’s biggest gaming event, the Poznan Game Arena, and they had a lot of players that sat down and played the game for the very first time and experienced skill-based combat and intense PvP. The developers took this chance to gather all the feedback and first impressions from the players so that they can fix all the urgent issues in the game. Other improvements include some changes to the Azebian starting areas and optimization improvements.
Players will now have an easier time landing a blow on humanoid characters (players and NPCs) as the hit detection algorithm has been improved. The “Z” mechanics were improved, and by default, it got bound to the [Left Alt] key, but now if no windows are open you have to hold a key to show the cursor. Holding or clicking the attack/block/kick button repeatedly will unsheathe your weapon, the animation that blends kicking and moving were improved, and the cooldown which blocks your actions after kicking was reduced. NPCs will now evade more slowly, the visuals of a mountain near Serai town and the flora on the Azebian starting areas were improved, and some new points of interest were added to the Azebian starting areas. There were also several optimization improvements.
In addition to those gameplay changes, there were some routine bugfixes. The spawn guard in the central building (caste keep) will no longer leave the spawn point and obliterate the attackers. Moving backwards with a bow will no longer prevent NPCs from attacking you. And on that note, the issue that allowed you to block with a bow which then led to locking the controller has been fixed as well.
