It seems that nowadays with video games there are two or three tasks that players try and seek. 1. Beat the game. 2. Complete the game completely (i.e. get all the secret items, do all the quests, all the unlockables, etc.). 3. Once the game is beaten, beat it again as fast as you possibly can. This third task is what we call Speedruns. And they are exactly that, players will dive into the hardest or deepest games to see how quickly they can beat it. So it’s natural for games to utilize them when possible. Like Furi for instance.

You may not think a game like Furi would be suited for a Speedrun mode. After all, it’s a game that is basically a slew of boss fights that test your abilities. However, the team sees it another way. Because the game like to throw players challenges in these boss fights, so a special Speedrun mode perfectly accentuates it.

This special mode will be coming to Steam via a beta, and to make things more interesting, this mode will only be accessible in the Furier Difficulty. Which if you don’t know, is the highest difficulty in the game.

If you don’t want to wait though, there’s a cheat to get it right now. You see, there’s a cheat code on the main screen (which you can view via the video above), and if you use it, you’ll unlock not only the Speedrun and Furier mode, but you’ll also be able to start it from a fresh save. The cheat will also let you change the main game screen.

If you don’t have Furi, you’re in luck, for the game is 50% off on Steam and the PlayStation Store for their special summer sales. So if you’re in the mood for intense action and epic boss battles…and Speedruns, get Furi.
