After the first weekend of matches kicking off the League of Legends NA LCS Summer Split, things look decidedly different from spring. At the top of the leader boards and having secured victories in both their matches from the weekend, Echo Fox, Counter Logic Gaming, and Immortals are leading the pack.

League of Legends NA LCS Summer Split 2017 Week 1

Plenty has been changing in the NA LCS, with the announcement of franchised partnerships coming next spring, and roster changes on plenty of the teams. So far, switching things up seems to have proven to be beneficial. After Immortals and Counter Logic Gaming traded junglers, both teams are showing up in ways that haven’t been seen in a few years. Meanwhile, Echo Fox is off to a great start with Inero as the new head coach, and Froggen tied for first in the league for MVP titles.

While last Spring Cloud9 may have gone undefeated for the first half of the split, the team, which hasn’t changed its roster, is off to a bumpy start. Curiously, Impact has yet to play a single game, and the team even went down 0-2 in their hyped rival rematch against Team SoloMid.

It’s a mixed bag for TSM, as the team adjusts to having Doublelift back in the squad. They fell 0-2 themselves in their game against Immortals, with Pobelter popping off on Ahri in game one, and the whole team rallied to take the Spring Split Champions down in game two. Don’t miss the incredible Piercing Arrow shot from Cody Sun that finished off TSM jungler Svenskeren.

There are a few surprises at the bottom of the standings as well. With two losses to start their Summer Split, Phoenix1, Cloud9, FlyQuest, and Team Liquid will all be hoping to turn things around next week. Matches will continue on NA LCS 1 and NA LCS 2 via Twitch, starting this Friday at 3pm PDT with Phoenix1 against Cloud9, and Immortals against Team EnVyUs.
