Big announcements, confirmations, and so on, in the latest Nintendo Direct. This one, centered around Fire Emblem offered some surprising insights, and while there was minimal information on the recently announced Fire Emblem Warriors, another new game got the spotlight, and it is on the way very soon.
First, Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia was announced for Nintendo 3DS. This game is a ground-up remake of Fire Emblem Gaiden, the classic title for the NES console, starring popular Fire Emblem lord characters Alm and Celica.
Second, while no information was given, a new Fire Emblem title was announced for Nintendo Switch. This is the first title for a home console since Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn for the Nintendo Wii.
Fire Emblem Warriors received a little bit more information, with the game being confirmed for the New Nintendo 3DS.
Finally, the newest mobile game, Fire Emblem Heroes was announced, taking the classic gameplay of the strategy series, and combining them with the lite gameplay often associated with free-to-play mobile games. This title, coming to both Google Play and the iPhone App Store, will allow players to use classic heroes from the series, such as Chrom, Corrin, Robin, and many more.
Though the Direct was short, it gave us an opportunity to get a look at some of the more interesting upcoming titles. The soonest arrival will be Fire Emblem Heroes, as the mobile title is expected to launch on February 2nd, on both iPhone and Google Play. Stay tuned for more updates.
