The Final Fantasy franchise has had a lot of ups and downs over the years. But when it hits, you know it’s going to be something special. And that was definitely the case with Final Fantasy XV. The game was in development for a long time, but when it released, it was praised by both fans and critics alike. So much so that it became the fastest selling Final Fantasy game of all time. And now, it’s getting a port to PC.
That’s right, Final Fantasy XV has been revealed by Square Enix to be coming to PC, including via Origin and Steam, sometime next year. Not so ironically, it was revealed during the Nvidia press event at Gamescom. That is to say that Nvidia is one of the best graphics card makers for PC, and you will no doubt have to have some of their equipment to play the game, especially since this version can run in 4K. And that’s just the beginning.
Players can expect a lot on the graphics side of things, including “realistic turf, advanced hair simulation and high quality ambient occlusion.” So yeah, this will be a high-quality port for sure. This has been a desire of the Final Fantasy XV team for a while, and was even teased during GDC this year, but no word was given on whether it would actually happen, until now.
This will be a great thing for the title, as it has been keeping players engaged with new and exciting content since launch. The DLC has expanded the story of the main characters, a multiplayer mode is being beta tested, and much more is still coming. So, if you’ve never played Final Fantasy XV, and you want to try out the PC version, you hopefully won’t have to wait much longer to get it.
