Patch 3.5 of FINAL FANTASY XIV will bring a few enhancements to PvP.
Only a week away, patch 3.5 of FINAL FANTASY XIV will introduce enhancements to PvP matches on top of a plethora of additions we previously covered, such as egi glamours, dungeons, and the primal Zurvan. PvPers will now have the option to synchronize their iLvl (short for item level, a way to determine how powerful a character’s equipped gear is) when proposing duels. The options include matching the opponent’s iLvl, synchronize to the PvP standard of 150, or not synchronizing at all. Additionally, skills and abilities will be reset at the beginning of each match so that players don’t have to wait in between duels for their skills to become available.
The Frontline PvP mode will also receive enhancements with the addition of the “Frontline Freelancer” option to the Duty Finder. Following user feedback, this new feature will allow players to queue for Frontline matches without being bound to their respective Grand Companies. It will be possible to use this feature when queueing up alone or with a party.
The second MMO in the acclaimed JRPG franchise, FINAL FANTASY XIV is generally praised for its abundance of PvE content. Yet, the game had failed to garner the same positivity when it comes to PvP. Although countless players take part in PvP matches, there’s a general consensus that the many modes require tweaking and balancing. More recently, those participating in the seasonal event Feast pointed out that the rewards weren’t on par with the effort of reaching the topmost ranks. There’s no denying to the game’s potential in PvP, hence why players care to provide feedback.
FINAL FANTASY XIV is available for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Mac. It’s next expansion, Stormblood, comes out on June 20 for Windows PC, Mac, and PlayStation 4.
