Final Fantasy XIV is a massive title, and as an MMORPG there are a lot of things that need to be thought about, changed occasionally, or just redone in some aspects. To reveal to fans what the team at Square Enix are doing at the time, they do “Letters From The Producer,” who explains exactly what they’re changing, adding, subtracting, or more. The latest “Letter” was livestreamed, but if you missed it, they also posted it on the Final Fantasy XIV forums, along with heavy details about the new changes. Here are the highlights.

One of the biggest notes for sure is about the Battle System. The producer noted that there were a lot of problems with the current system. These included how it was too “overly complex,” there seems to be a lack of synergy between jobs, the system can overwhelm players who aren’t hardcore players of the game, and so on. Thus, for Patch 4.0, the team is working hard to overhaul the system.

Another confusing aspect of Final Fantasy XIV is that players have had to level up several jobs to get certain things, even though they don’t want to do that particular job. But now, they’re going to introduce a new Role-Action System, which will remove that, and make it easier to get jobs by focusing on the one you have now.

For those who feel PvP could be better in Final Fantasy XIV, you are not alone! The team noted several problems that are weighing down the fan-favorite mode in the game. So, they’ve made changes to fix it. For example, all PvP actions are now specific to PvP and PvP alone. This will free up players from some of the confusion that the game has had.

Be sure to read the full letter to get the full breakdown, as there are a lot of changes coming.
