The Nintendo Treehouse event at E3 2017 was much more than just game demos. There were some very interesting reveals there as well. In fact, two major 3DS titles were revealed during the 3 days there in the forms of Metroid: Samus Returns and Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions. The latter is a remake of the classic Game Boy Advance title, but with updated graphics and a brand new side story that adds even more depth to the game. And fans are excited to get it.
In the original game, Mario & Luigi must go to the Beanbean Kingdom in order to save Princess Peach’s voice (long story), and along the way the brothers go on some absolutely insane adventures. This was the game that honestly kicked off the entire Mario & Luigi RPG franchise, which has had many sequels since including Dream Team, Bowser’s Inside Story, and Partners in Time, among others.
For gamers on Reddit, this game presents not only a fun opportunity but a unique one for those who didn’t get to play the original, like user Novalith_Raven:
“I haven’t played the original on GBA, and I’m SUPER excited to be able to play this game, because I’ve heard good things about it.”
Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions also though features a very special story showcasing Bowser’s loyal army. In the original game, there is a point where Bowser’s craft is shot down. Now, you’ll find out what happened to his army when they crashed. You’ll lead an army of Koopas, Goombas, Shy Guys, and more in a quest to find your boss, and take down both traitors to your cause, and those loyal to the queen of Beanbean Kingdom.
Either way you look at it, there’s a lot to be excited about for Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions. The game is set for release this October for Nintendo 3DS.
