How long do you play a video game for? It’s a question that may sound odd, but it’s a rather important one. There are games that are meant to be played for only a certain amount of time, and others that you can play forever without end. But your willingness to go back to that game, to play it, or to replay it, shows a lot about your connection with the game. For the Nintendo Switch, the newest console from Nintendo, there’s a lot of good games on it. But there’s only one Zelda.
You see, a poll was made on Reddit, asking Nintendo Switch owners to vote on what their most played Nintendo Switch game was. It was a write-in ballot, which meant that by the time it was over…the only game on the poll was Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Literally, it was the only title on the poll, and when you think about it, that makes a lot of sense.
Breath of the Wild wasn’t just the launch title for the Switch, it was a game that was highly anticipated for years. Every time we saw a clip of the game it got us more and more amped to play it, and you could say the same for the Nintendo Switch. We wanted that console badly, and if we could only have ONE game to play on it, it would be Zelda. Add to that, the game is so expansive, so full of content, so full of life and mystery that players can and have spent hundreds of hours in the game just roaming around and seeing what the game has to offer.
What’s more, with the first ever DLC for the game, it added even more to do, and a second pack is coming this Holiday season that’ll add story content to the game. So, is this is a surprise? Not really, but it’s nice to hear it nonetheless.
