Interacting with your community is how many MMO’s, regardless of developer or genre, are allowed to succeed in the realm of video games. After all, we’re the ones playing them, should they not be listening to us, giving us thanks for playing their titles, and offering us chances to become something more than just a player? You know, making us feel special? Well, EVE Online appears to be doing just that.
Over the course of the last few weeks, EVE Online has been releasing videos from some of their “high-profile pilots”. These videos helped give backstories to these characters, and thus add something fun and new to the game. But now, the team is turning to the community to make their own videos, and become part of the game itself.
The rules are simple. Much like the original videos, you are tasked with making your own video recalling a tale/story of you in the universe of New Eden. You can use your own in-game footage, use yourself on a camera, or even make your own special effects. The sky is the limit, with the only caveats being it has to be T Rated and under 3 minutes. Then, once you’re done, you upload the video to Youtube, tweet it to @EVEOnline, using the hashtag #myEVEstory, email that Tweet link to EVE, and then wait for them to message you via DM on Twitter.
For those wondering, there are plenty of prizes, all of which you can see (along with the full set of rules and requirements) below. So, will you make your own story for EVE? It may just be the coolest thing you do for some time!
