The Seattle-based publisher En Masse Entertainment released a trailer via their official YouTube yesterday, announcing the upcoming closed beta for Kritika Online. Those interested in participating in the closed beta, which begins May 24th, can secure their access by donating to the game at the official website.

Kritka Goes West

The MMO ARPG has already seen release in South East Asia, where a recent update added an another playable class in the form of the Monk. That class is not found in the YouTube trailer for the North American release, which highlights the game’s other four classes. The trailer also highlights players’ ability to further specialize, with each of the four classes leading into two unique specializations.

As the video shows, combat in Kritika is heavily action-oriented, eschewing the more traditional targeting approach of classic MMORPGs for gameplay that looks similar to fantasy MMORPG Dragon Quest. With access to the closed beta beginning May 24th, players will get the opportunity to see for themselves how the game looks, plays, and feels.

Continuing that comparison, Kritika will see players traveling from shared hubs into instances to complete missions and engage enemies. According to an earlier press release from En Masse, each instance is designed to take only a few minutes to complete.

En Masse Entertainment is already well-known for localizing and publishing TERA in the North America. Just this past March, they also announced they would be bringing that title to consoles, namely PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

To find out more about Kritka, before the game enters closed beta in North America, be sure to check out their game guide, which goes in depth about the characters shown in the trailer, as well as the additional features of the game.
