Elder Scrolls Online Morrowind

The Elder Scrolls Online has been releasing many videos lately on the topic of their impending Morrowind DLC. In fact, just two days ago, they released a lore-friendly video about the Great Houses found in Morrowind. Today, in a post on the official website and on the Bethesda Youtube channel, we get even more information on the Great Houses of Morrowind and their relationship with the Morag Tong.

For those who may be unfamiliar with Morrowind lore, the Morag Tong is a band of assassins not unlike the Dark Brotherhood in Skyrim. They, however, are somewhat legal. They often deal with the Great Houses of Morrowind, which we recently discussed in a previous post.

To summarize, the Great Houses are political parties divided by their beliefs in opposing customs and traditions. Tensions are often high between these houses and so the Morag Tong gets quite a bit of business from them. According to the video, “Morag Tong offer an impartial way to address grievances” which is a lovely way to say they assassinate people.

The post that accompanies this video tells us that players will be dealing with the Great Houses quite often in the Morrowind DLC and we will likely have to choose sides and perhaps even carry out a few assassinations of our own. House Hlaalu, Redoran, and Telvanni all have their pros and cons, of course, so who do you think you will choose?

The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind DLC comes out on June 6th but those who pre-order the game on either Mac or PC will be able to play Early Access on the megaserver as of the 22nd of this month. If you’re craving more information on Morrowind, make sure you check out the lore-friendly guide to Vivec city where a well-respected Morag Tong assassin guides players through the city.
