The Elder Scrolls Online is an MMORPG set in the universe of the popular single-player Elder Scrolls titles. The game is gearing up to release another DLC pack called Horns of the Reach which we mentioned back in June. Today, the official website put out a preview of one of the two dungeons the DLC has to offer players.
The dungeon, called Falkreath Hold, brings Skyrim players back to a familiar place. In the Elder Scrolls 5, Falkreath was one of less winter-riddled areas of Skyrim and was home to one of the game’s largest cities, simply called Falkreath. Lead Designer Mike Finnigan said this about the up-coming dungeon in the Elder Scrolls Online: “When building Falkreath, we started with the actual height map and town layout from Skyrim.” This Falkreath, however, will be quite a bit bigger than the one found in Skyrim and will be protected by “giant stone walls.”
The aim of the Falkreath Hold dungeon is to really make players feel as though they are a part of a siege against Reachmen and hulking minotaurs. Players are tasked with defending Falkreath against this enemy alongside Jarl Skjoralmor’s daughter Eerika within the walls. The dungeon offers up a number of challenges including a constant onslaught of fire raining down from the Reachmen’s siege engines which can also be treated as a helpful tool to defeat enemies.
The preview tells us that players will face a number of bosses, including Reachmen warlords, massive beasts, undead monsters, and Domihaus, the Bloody-Horned, a minotaur chieftain. Domihaus will have to be dealt with in a cramped environment in which the developers advise players to “keep an eye on the ground” to aid them in battle. If they are successful in the venture, a hero could earn many different rewards, such as the Ironblood heavy armour set, the Draugr’s Rest light armour set, or the Domihaus mask from the veteran level dungeon, and so much more!
