Dropzone is a MOBA/PvP game on Steam that has players commanding a group of three pilots and trying win in intense 15-minute matches. But, as the team has now revealed on Steam, the game is ready to take the next step in its evolution, by going Free-To-Play. Gamers will be able to go online and show off their skills without having to pay a cent, and the team is happy to give players that freedom. The Free-To-Play version will be available on April 12th.
But, that’s not the only change that’s coming to the game. Based off of player feedback, the team is giving players the chance to learn the game much easier via a new 3v3 mode. In this one, instead of having to control 3 pilots at once, you’ll only have to control one. This way, you’ll get to learn how the controls and the game work, and not be overwhelmed by the number of pilots you have to control.
The best part is that not only do you gain experience in this mode, but you can play with either your friends, other online players, or AI. The choice is yours. Also, should something happen to one of the other players, you won’t have to worry, as the game will sub in an AI controller without skipping a beat.
But, if you’re looking for a true challenge, Dropzone also has Ranked Play. These 1v1 matches let players test their skills against other players and see how good they really are. Plus, there will be Leaderboards and Divisions, and even an upcoming Reputation System.
Other options include being able to start your own match or to search for a match to join via a number of different parameters. However you want to play Dropzone, the developers have you covered.
