Doomfist Gets Overwatch Digital Comic

One of the big things that makes video games appealing to many fans is that they have the potential to be used in different forms of media. This can come in handy when the game itself doesn’t allow for elaboration on certain events or even characters. For all the fun that Overwatch is, they often have some tough times elaborating on the characters that make up the teams, mainly because there’s no story mode. But Blizzard makes up for that in unique ways, and one of them is through digital comics.

With the arrival of the long-requested Doomfist, Blizzard has once again gone the digital comics route to show the events that happened after Doomfist’s escape from prison. Called Doomfist: Masquerade, we see him interact with many members of Talon, and he teases some big events coming, while also giving commentary on past ones.

What’s fascinating here is that we get to see the imprisonment of Doomfist has affected Talon, and it’s not in a way that pleases him, which makes him take drastic steps. Remember, he was the leader of Talon until he got locked up due to Overwatch. But now, he’s back, and there’s going to be a lot of battles ahead because of it.

Another interesting aspect of this is that this comic could be interpreted as a prologue to special gameplay events that are coming to Overwatch. Uprising was a big gameplay event, and it got a digital comic too, so could some big events be coming? We’ll just have to wait and see.

In regards to Doomfist, waiting for him is almost over. While he’s on the PTR (Public Test Realm) now, we know that he is going to be made available to the public on July 27th.
