Larian Studios, the developer behind the Divinity series, announced that their latest title, Divinity: Original Sin 2, will be leaving early access and heading to full release this September. The official release date for the RPG is set for September 24, 2017.

Divinity: Original Sin 2

Many fans have enjoyed the early access for Divinity: Original Sin 2 via Steam, where it consistently has received “Very Positive” reviews. The follow up to 2014’s Divinity: Original Sin, this sequel takes players once more to a world where the gods are dead, and anyone who holds mysterious, magical abilities are ruthlessly persecuted. The sequel features a much larger world than ever before, as well as the ability to choose your character’s race, and pick a unique back story that influences the story.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 will also include a Game Master mode upon release, allowing players to craft their own stories and scenarios. PvP will also be fully functional, pitting players in strategic combat against one another.

Larian has released an update to the early access version of the game to celebrate the official release announcement. A video with information on that update can be seen on their official YouTube channel.

One returning feature from Divinity: Original Sin is the ability to follow the story in a multiplayer cooperative mode. Up to four players can join in on the story, and each individual character will have their own objectives, based on their own backstory.

The original Divinity game, Divine Divinity, was released in 2002. That went on two spawn two spin offs, Beyond Divinity and Divinity: Dragon Commander, as well as a sequel, Divinity II. Divinity: Original Sin, which was a prequel to the original Divinity title, went on to win over 150 awards and nominations.
