Parity happens a lot in video games, especially when it comes to the consoles, because often one company will do something, and then the others will follow suit in their own style. Sony did discs to house game data, soon everyone was doing discs. Nintendo brought the Mii’s, then everyone was having Avatars. Yet one thing that Nintendo didn’t grab from the other companies was Trophies/Achievements, something that has puzzled gamers. But that didn’t stop Disgaea 5 Complete from having them in the Switch port!
As noted by dskatter on Reddit (who also provided the picture above), the Nintendo Switch version still has the trophies/achievements that the PS4 version of the game had when it launched a while back. In fact, it pops up in almost the same way as those original ones, which makes him very happy:
“I have to admit, the thing that tickles me most about this port (other than the fact of its mere EXISTENCE!) is the fact that they KEPT the trophies from the PS4 version.”
Now, you may be wondering what the big deal is. Well, it simply has to deal with people really loving getting achievements/trophies on their Xbox and PlayStation systems. These very tiny things are fun little mini-goals to achieve that shows they’ve accomplished something special or unique, and since trophies and achievements show up in every game, it adds a little bit of flair to them.
Yet despite this love, the trophies in Disgaea 5 on the Switch are definitely the exception to the rule. The system could easily have them, so why don’t they for all their games? Would you like to see them on the Nintendo Switch? Let us know in the comments below.
