The PTR in games like Diablo III allow the developers, like Blizzard, to try and make sure the content they’re about to release for the game not only flows, but isn’t glitchy. Also, they release Patch Notes to ensure that people know what to look for, as well as what to expect.
Diablo III’s 2.5 patch is hitting the PTR server, and here’s what you can expect from it. If you want to participate in the PTR, check out this FAQ to find out how.
Patch wise, the first big feature is the armory. Players may now save up to five different builds per character with this method, and you can find this feature in the town hub. By “saving a build”, the game takes a snapshot of your character’s current gear, socketed gems, active and passive skills, and Kanai’s Cube powers. Because of this, if you want to try out some other looks for your character, but then want to revert, you’ll be able to do so easily.
Furthermore, crafting materials that are found through salvaging will not be put in the shared stash, but rather its own tab, therefore giving you more space for items.
Speaking of items, a lot of items have been adjusted in the new patch, including Legendary Items, Class Specific Items, and even General Items. Also, there have been class changes, and changes to Adventure Mode such as level requirements in the Greater Rifts, changes to Set Dungeons, and even Bounties.
