Developer Blog Discusses Sailing and Fishing in Neverwinter

The latest developer blog for the free-to-play MMORPG Neverwinter reveals key details about the latest additional feature; Sailing and Fishing. The blog initially describes the new feature as: “Icewind Dale brings adventurers to Neverwinter’s largest zone yet, the Sea of Moving Ice, there are some who wonder how one would begin to navigate such a place. Fortunately, the native Ice Hunters already have this all figured out, and some of them may even be willing to share their methods, in exchange for your aid. As you progress through the zone, you’ll gain access to your very own khyek, a personal maneuverable boat that allows you to venture across the open sea. There are several tiers of khyeks you can find in the zone that improve in speed and appearance with each tier. These vessels cannot be summoned beyond the Sea of Moving Ice.”

The Khyeks are more than just a meaning for conveyance as well, with eerie inhabitants dwelling beneath the Sea of Moving Ice for you to catch using the special rod found in that particular zone. Reap the benefits of this activity whether you are merely a collector or in the trade business, as anything you catch can be turned into food for refugees and troops, thereby boosting your reputation. In turn, this reputation can be used in the Svardborg trial to open up chests containing special items needed to upgrade the relic weapons that accompany the Sea of Moving Ice update.

Neverwinter is now available on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
