The universe of Pokemon is one that is constantly growing and adapting. After all, the series has been out for over 20 years, and fans still look forward to every new game and title that comes out for it. Nearly a month ago, Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon released, and players bought it in bulk. On the mobile market, Pokemon GO and Magikarp Jump! are two of the biggest hits in gaming. But many fans have been curious about another Pokemon title recently, Detective Pikachu.
This was a game that was made by Nintendo for Japan, and for whatever reason, it did really well there, so much so that a movie featuring Detective Pikachu was put into the works. Then, last week, it was revealed that the film was going into full production for the west, and would feature Ryan Reynolds as Detective Pikachu himself. But, this also raised eyebrows, “Why would we get a movie if we haven’t even played the game?” Well, Serebii.net might have the answer to that.
Apparently, the European gaming board, called PEGI, has listed Detective Pikachu as coming to the west. Now, it has a “release date” of 2020, but that’s used by sites to indicate that they don’t know exactly when it’s coming out. More than likely, it’d release before the film comes out to really build up hype for it.
Here’s the official description that the PEGI board put up:
“Detective Pikachu is on the case! Investigate evidence, question possible witnesses and solve a curious mystery.”
Unlike the classic anime Pikachu, this one can fully walk and talk like a human, which is no doubt the appeal of the game itself. Far as we know, this is also the plot that the movie will follow.
So, will you be getting Detective Pikachu if it comes out? Let us know in the comments below.
