Competition is a way for players of any game to see who is better, or, who can out-do the other in a fantastic way. It’s this desire that makes multiplayer games so fun. Whether its just you facing your friends, or you squaring off against the rest of the world. MMO and MMORPGs take this to a different level, and with everyone being able to do just about everything, the need for new challenges is a must. So, the players take initiative. For example, check out this one from Destiny.
A player named HoldenAGrenade has issued a speed challenge on the Darkblade, aka Alak-Hul. Moreso though, this is a speed challenge, where you have to try and kill the Darkblade in the quickest amount of time. You’re allowed anything and anyone to try and get him. For example, he notes he used burns on the nightfall, 2 titans and 1 warlock. He also did 3 4th horsemens, both titans wearing empyrean bellicose and warlock running viking funeral. And a combination of 1 weapon of light bubble, illuminated for extra damage 1 sunbreaker for melting point 1 sunsinger with firebolt for 5% damage boost.
Now, there is a key timing element here. The “timer” for his “takedown” starts on the first frame that he takes damage (yes, you must record killing him, here is a take he did), and it ends on the first frame that shows his body exploding. If you win? You get bragging rights, which in a game like Destiny isn’t so much of a bad thing, as that means you’ve beaten a whole bunch of other players.
So take on the challenge, and let’s see who comes out on top!
