Following a few weeks of teasers for the upcoming DLC coming to Dead by Daylight, developer 505 Games has revealed the new survivor, killer and map that will be coming to the asymmetrical survival horror game. Entitled “A Lullaby For The Dark”, the DLC’s backstory has been outlined, revolving around a new woods-based map, a new survivor in David King, and the eerie new Killer known as The Huntress.
The latest killer to come to Dead by Daylight is most certainly a formidable one, as The Huntress, formerly known as Anna, comes from a particularly haunting backgrond. Anna, who witness the death of her mother in brutal fashion, she was left alone to fend for herself out in the woods, where she grew to be a stealthy, unpredictable killer. The Huntress also presents the first killer to have projectile weapons, wielding five deadly hatchets to take down Survivors with in what will be a brand new experience for players as either Killer or Survivor.
As for the new Survivor, David King grew up spoilt and filthy rich, and is described by game director Mathieu Cote as “a bit of a d*ck.” However, his perks make him more than useful when it comes to getting out alive. His first perk, called I Got You, Son! Gives him a 50% bloodpoints bonus for rescuing team mates and taking hits from the Killer to protect others. The Line Break perk meanwhile gives the Survivor a shot of adrenaline that can be used when injured, which offers a speed burst and immunity to both damage and traps. His last perk is a rather odd one, which is known as Just A Scratch. This starts King off injured at the start of the match, and unable to heal or be healed. In return, you are able to recover from the dying state, as well as reduce the noise made from groaning in pain, plus it stops pools of blood forming.
Mother’s Dwelling is the new map to be added to the game, which is set In a forest-like location from The Huntress’ backstory. This is said to be the area where the Killer would murder numerous lost wanderers, as well as kidnapping and killing young girls.
